Chocolate Dreams Company
"In Israel everyone likes to eat, and everyone loves chocolate." Creating a business that makes people smile is more than satisfying for Ronda Israel, owner of the Chocolate Dreams Company.
With two kids finished with high school and two pre-bar/bat mitzvah children, the Israel family knew the time was optimal for them to leave Highland Park, N.J. and make aliyah. One of their first stops in Israel was at the President's Residence where they, along with other new immigrants, were invited to meet with President Moshe Katsav, and First Lady Gila Katsav. In fact, that is where @The Source Israel met Ronda and Aaron: on line in the rain awaiting security clearance to enter Israel's "White House". The Tehilla Organization helped them through the immigration process.
A school administrator in the U.S., Israel decided to make a career change at the same time as moving to Israel. After a year in the country, Ronda focused on the creation of a profitable business.
Whereas she likes chocolate, Israel says she is definitely not a chocoholic. "When I saw how much sugar and sweets Israelis eat, I saw how everyone smiles when they think of chocolate," said Israel.
This past Purim, Israel made chocolate treats and gave them out to soldiers stationed nearby.
Deliveries to communities near Modiin as well as area hospitals are available. Rabbi David Lau of Modiin certifies all of the products kosher. A bag of chocolate dipped pretzels is 25 NIS, and platters run between 30-90 NIS.
The chocolates make a great birthday gift, pick-me-up or simply a nice Shabbat treat for people of all ages.
