Dorit Rabinyan
Dorit Rabinyan was born in 1972 and raised in the town of Kfar Saba, Israel, to a family that had emigrated from Iran a few years earlier. Dorit lives in Tel Aviv.
"I started writing Persian Brides when I was 21. The plot is based on my grandmother's personal story. She was my inspiration for the character Nasie, the heroine of the book. I had no intention of educating the reader when I wrote this novel, but I take my reader with me on a feminine odyssey to fantastic Iran in the beginning of the century. My second novel, was published in Israel in March 1999, and will be published in English sometime this year. These days I spend my time collecting material for a third novel."
